Welcome to Treglyn. Welcome to Treglyn, Old Cornish for "Dwelling Place in the Glen." On arrival you are sure to agree that Treglyn is an especially peaceful place. Glance to the south and you will see why the old farmhouse was built here. The cottages enjoy this same magnificent view, stretching away across farmland to Wadebridge and the countryside beyond. About the cottages are small grass paddocks and 9 acres of young woodland, planted 1999. You'll also see various wildlife visitors such as a Kestrel, one of over sixty bird species spotted on Treglyn!

A Relaxing Place to Stay at Any Time of Year Shed the rush and go of modern life by taking a walk around the adjacent woodland. Later in the day you might notice the stars in the sky, as bright now as always away from city lighting. The lights of Wadebridge and villages are far enough away to add to the scene. Early risers at Treglyn are often greeted by a spectacular sunrise, but don't be surprised if you sleep soundly right through it!

Cottages As you approach you will be pleased to see that all the cottages are built to a very high standard, finished in stone, all in the style of the original barn. Look carefully and you will find a stone bearing the date 1844. The conversion was made in 1989. This high standard is continued inside, each cottage being tastefully fitted out with quality furnishings and everything you will need for a comfortable and carefree time, including microwave, fridge and colour T.V. The cottages are now individually owned, so please see the individual sites for information on the new layout for each cottage. Click the BACK button, return to the previous page. |

From the first day you'll find plenty to do. The Estuary from Rock to Polzeath offers ideal conditions for all manner of outdoor and water sport, and Treglyn is fortunately within minutes of all these facilities. Enjoy Europe's finest surfing beaches, waves direct from the Atlantic. Polzeath is favoured by most, and is now a Voluntary Marine Wildlife Area. A great family beach is Daymer Bay. Walk from here to the top of Brea Hill and enjoy the panoramic view. Take a hike along the superb rugged cliffs and reap the reward of breathtaking views. Look down at Doom Bar, where in the 1800' scores of ships met their end. Pass through the smugglers coves, the places of folklore and legend. Tee off at Rock's St. Enodoc golf course, favourite of Sir Betjeman. Rock is also your venue of sailing, boating, water-skiing or simply enjoying the miles of golden sands and striking scenery. Ferry across to Padstow. Speed, pleasure and fishing boat trips operate from here. Come for May Day and you'll see the famous 'Obby 'Oss. Cycle the superb Camel Trail (about 16 miles of level track) passing from the edge of Bodmin Moor through woodland alongside the River Camel down the estuary to Padstow. Stop off at the bird watching hides. Further afield the choice widens. Whatever you want it's here.
